Sisters of the Holy Cross

Founded:    1841 by Basil Anthony Moreau

Purposes:   Personal sanctification, teaching and nursing.

Habit:   A black habit with the rosary of the Seven Dolors at the right side and a blue cord on the left, a silver heart with the image of Our Lady of Sorrows on it, a circular collar and a fluted cap with black veil.
